The ten day catastrophe isn't yet over in
uttarakhand. We,human beings cannot fight the nature. Some years back tsunami did
the same and now continuous rains have caused a matter of serious concern in
the hilly areas. Some persons are even missing , the death toll is raising
higher and higher and the people are praying for their dear ones.Power lines
are damaged, drinking water supply is disrupted and you can't even call your
dear ones as telephone networks are also jammed which is obvious.Morever food
stalk is getting finished and the trapped ones are really looking forward for a
dominant step from government. This tragedy has caused a real loss to economy. An
estimate loss of Rs 3000 crore has been made by the uttarakhand chief
minister.Who is to blame ??
Short term benefits are given more privilege than
the environment.Increase in deforestation has mainly contributed to the loss.As
a result , nature takes its revenge in one form or the other. The patience of
mother land cannot be tested for too long.Morever the stills on uttarakhand
hills were ignored( according to a environmentalist) ,otherwise who knows the
nightmare(which has come true) could have been prevented?? Increase in the
number of shops near kedarnath temple has also proved to be harmful.
It is sad to hear the news of the people dying
and their cremation ceremony being performed in areas of badrinath.I hope that
no more death casualties will occur now and god will surely help the
people.Immediate steps needs to be taken now to rescue the remaining people.I
am really looking forward to see how our leaders respond to such a
situation.(After all they have 2014 agenda in mind).Oh god !! please show some
mercy and give us the courage to fight this terrible situation.
