Mid semester exams are over (finally !!) and it's the time to celebrate. On this resilient occasion, i could not think of a topic other than the festive month of october. This month of october 2014 really bought a chill factor alongside. With a plethora of holidays lying in this very month, people can really think about spending some of their time with their families. Shopping, interior decoration, renovation are a normal phenomenon these days. Many people prefer Amazon and Flipkart over their daily chores. ( Technology is really flying high these days..). Train tickets are not available and buses are over crowded. (Who wants to ruin these seven days ??). Dussehra will mark the beginning of this festival season, then we have bakri-id, then sir syed day and lastly the festival of lights-Diwali. Let's throw some light on this festival. Children are really fond of diwali. (Wonder why ??) Crackers- of course are the main reason. The same reason they would die for, if parents are eco-friendy. (What a supreme dilemma for parents !!). Some kids utilise their left over crackers and burst them whenever india wins a match afterwards. (If they are passionate about cricket.. ). ( In india who is not ??) Diwali as we all know is the ancient hindu festival associated with lights. On this auspicious occasion lord ram came back to ayodhya after defeating the 'notorious' raavan. Raavan- the evil side and the dark character, was really treacherous and utilised his mendacious skills to a large extent, made every possible move to defeat ram but he just couldn't succeed.
Diwali is always remembered as the victory of good over evil, hope over despair, but it teaches us a lot more. Talking about practical lives, one thing is certain. A human mind is a combination of ram as well as raavan. Let us assign them certain names like positive and negative. Whenever anger, greed, selfishness, ego dominates over love, altruisticity, affection, forgiveness, our negative character is displayed and when the latter dominates, we have our positive character highlighted. However to achieve the path of success, raavan has to be defeated and ram has to emerge as a victor. Having a self control is very important in the tumultous situations of life. Hope and patience are the two very substantial things in life which should never be left behind, in the long run. (I hope you all have seen the movie- "the shawshank redemption"). Even the darkest of character has a small percentage of positivity lying somewhwere deep inside his body. However to recognize this riveted quality is a matter of serious concern, which requires full dedication and determination. The one who does so often tastes the fruit of success. I am right or am i right ????
