'Tamasha' - Go & watch it now !!

It was just another movie for Deepika Padukone. With several hits under her armpit, she is on cloud nine these days. Her recently released 'Piku' did very well at the box office. However the situation was critical for Ranbir Kapoor. With a lukewarm responses to his last three movies- Besharam, Roy, Bombay Velvet (the ultimate debacle), this one was very important for his career graph. And indeed the movie can be termed as 'Above Average'. The movie saw Imtiaz Ali (the one behind Jab We Met, Highway, Love aaj kal) and Ranbir Kapoor collaborate for the second time after Rockstar- the movie which proved that Ranbir is not just any star kid, who is born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Imtiaz is famous for a particular genre only, but you can always see a gigantic difference between his movies. His art of story telling is different from others. This one is different too.
The movie has a tagline too-"Why always the same story". And yes, the story is different, though the genre remains the same. The story has three different versions of Ranbir- One as a small kid who is crazy about hearing a story. Second as a twenty something year old, who is not at all interested in engineering but has to do it. (Same as me !!). Third- as a person who is a manager in a particular company and functions like a robot. The monotonous schedule goes on and on and he is not really living a life. However in the end he listen to his heart and works for a field in which he was an A plus-Story-telling. Indeed the movie teaches us about some of the concepts of Rat Race. Everyone is just running in the competition and we don't even know why. The one who wins the race remains a rat and the same applies for the last one also. But life is not only about being in the race, it is much more that. So listen to your heart and follow your dreams otherwise a 'guilt' factor will haunt you forever.
The movie also has some great dialogues and nice songs too. 'Matargashti' by Mohit Chauhan (who took singing to a new level in Rockstar) is my personal favourite. All in all it was a fantastic movie with epic performances by both Ranbir and Deepika.
