In my earlier blogs i have
already stated the fact that when things come to cricket, things gradually
shift to another planet. Cricket being the most sacred sport of India, is
worshipped by the millions. Before we move any further, let's have a quick glance
over these facts:-
Mahendra Singh Dhoni- the
man with a Midas touch. The same man who:-
- Lead India to T-20 World
Cup victory in 2007.
- Lead India to 2011 World
Cup victory.
- Lead India to 2013
Champions Trophy Victory.
- Lead India to No 1 spot in
Test cricket.
If that's not all, wait I am
not finished yet. He is the same man who:-
- Is excellent in his job as
wicket keeper.
- Has been awarded with
Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2007.
- Was ODI player of the year
back in 2008 and 2009.
- Took Chennai Super Kings
to new heights.
There are lots more and this
blog will never end. So moving on..
Recently India
lost the series against Bangladesh. Dhoni- the 'Captain Cool' is in fact not so
cool these days. He is the one, who is under heavy criticism following the ODI
series loss to Bangladesh. The level of frustration has increased to an extent,
that he has even offered to step down from captaincy. Several former cricketers
have rallied around the wicketkeeper-batsman and wants him to stay on. What say
?? Yes indeed. Dhoni-the man with a tremendous amount of patience and
composure, who keeps calm even in the most intense of situations on field, the
man with best intuition instincts, the man who shows enormous (in fact gigantic
!!) amount of confidence in a player in his bad form, the man who is a source
of inspiration to many, is 100 % required in the final 11. "Just one bad
series, and everyone forgets who you are", shouldn't be happening
pragmatically. And consider the main reason too. Match after match after match.
With such a hectic schedule, you don't have much time to analyse. BCCI needs to
understand the situation. (And indeed they have - Zimbawe tour has been
cancelled due to this hectic schedule as well as other primary reasons). And
people, have faith. He will deliver !!
However the big question remains- Will
he play in the upcoming 2019 world cup ??
